What Sustains Us is about being in a larger context – – which makes it connected to what has traditionally been called spirituality, i.e. a sense of being (part of) something larger. If so, it is with the understanding that spiritual systems emerged as ways to make sense of the world, providing tools for acting on this understanding. So, in our day and age, such a system would not just be based on what is traditionally considered spiritual. It would also reflect other ways to make sense of the larger context in which we live, such as our physical environment, as well as the social, economic and political factors that sustain us (or not).
